Commensalism is another form of symbiosis in which one species benefits and the other is unaffected. This usually happens when an animal uses a tree for shelter. The animal gets somewhere to live and the tree is unaffected. Also an animal may stay close to a larger animal to collect its scraps and be protected from predators. This is usually underwater with sharks, but it also happens with cougars and vultures.
